You shouldn’t consider the glycemic index chart something baffling or too hard to understand, – it can be a great thing, and really assist you in maintaining your health and your weight control, It could even save your life, so step back and be willing to learn!

Your first impressions of the glycemic index chart can get pretty confusing, if you’re not sure what everything means. While it was originally made for doctors and patients to be on the same page of eating, if you don’t understand the numbers, it won’t do you much good.

Numbers: There is High GI, There is Low GI, and Every GI in Between

When you look at the glycemic index chart, there’s a lot of different numbers that go with the foods listed. They range from 0 to 100 depending on the food that’s listed.

The numbers indicate how your blood sugar will spike. A number like 92 will mean that it digests fast in your system, and will bring your blood sugar up high quickly.

The lower the number, the slower it digests in your system – which means that it will slowly alter your blood sugar, much healthier for your body (especially if you’re diabetic).

Reading the numbers takes some work, but understanding them is simple. With the majority of charts, a number lower than 55 means that it is considered low. Between 55-70 is a middle range, and above 70 is considered high.

The majority of charts won’t list foods based on their index number – they are listed in food groups, or food types. Each chart is a little different, but they’re all working on the same principle.

Why Are Some Foods Lower than Others?

People who idly glance at the glycemic index chart would be confused on many levels. After all, who would have guessed that a Snickers bar ranks in the 40’s, but a bagel will hit you in the 70’s?

The reason that this happens is that a Snickers bar not only has chocolate, but it has peanuts, which have plenty of protein. The protein in the peanuts slows the digestion of the rest of the food, meaning that it takes longer to digest.

This is the loophole of the glycemic index. If you eat something that’s high on the index, you should eat it with protein. So add some peanut butter to that toast, and don’t hesitate to eat a tuna sandwich.

This is why some foods may seem oddly ranked to you. If you didn’t know better, it could seem like it was simply a listing of random numbers!

How This Information Helps You

The glycemic index is being used by a multitude of people, diabetic or not, and being able to master the index is a wonderful step towards health and longevity.

It will take time to really understand how to use the information you can find in a glycemic index chart properly, but you shouldn’t hesitate to try to eat according to it before you’ve really mastered it. After all, you learn from experience!

Changing Your Diet: Switching to Low Glycemic Index Food

If you are serious about changing your diet to include foods of the Low Glycemic Index type you should introduce these new options into your diet gradually, otherwise you may find it hard and difficult adjusting to the change.

It’s the switching that can be hard! After eating low glycemic index food you will actually feel better and your health is being kept optimal so the change doesn’t have to be all that bad.

What Makes Adjustment Difficult

There is a very good chance that you’ve been eating the way you are at the moment for a long time. This is not ment to criticise you, or your lifestyle. It’s simply a fact that we tend to be creatures of habit!

Some will power and a “drive to make the change in your life” will be needed to make the adjustment from your normal eating habits. Lacking this is often why people ‘fall of the wagon’ when it comes to diets.

A question to ask yourself is, what type of change do I want right now?

There are several ways to implement a diet change in your life, and it really depends on the type of person you are. Some work best with drastic changes, while others prefer a gradual change.

Making a Drastic Change in your Diet

If you introduce a drastic, quick change in your diet which is often what people try, because it eliminates bad habits right now. The problem with this is, many people consider it like going ‘cold turkey’ from bad foods.

One way to achive this is to wait until you have very little food in the house. Consider it like eating away your options, and then you don’t have any bad food to choose.

As the food supply gets lower, print out the glycemic index list, or write down a list of good foods – those with a low glycemic number – and take it to the store. Stock up on low glycemic index food that is good for you, and good for your health.

This means that you have no options for bad eating, and therefore you’re almost ’stuck’ eating healthy!

Gradual Changes in your Diet

If you decide to go the “gradual change” to your diet you may find that isn’t always the easiest to swallow either, but for some, it’s the only way. Some people tend to gravitate to the unhealthy options in your fridge when they gradually introduce the low glycemic foods into their diet.

But that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t eventually change your diet! Start by making a point when you go grocery shopping to purchase at least one item that’s low on the glycemic index. Eventually, it’s going to be easier to eat according to the index.

Why Am I Makeing this Change?

Changing your lifestyle is hard, and food is so engrained in us, changing the way we eat can be almost torture. But when you take that step and realize the benefits that you are getting, you will know that this is why you should change your lifestyle, and your eating habits. This knowledge will help you.

Be sure that you’re ready for the change you’re implementing when you make the choice to eat low glycemic index food, and stick to the plan. Not only for your health, but really for the quality of your life.

Social Networks. The name just implies that we should be able to use the networks as business tools… and indeed we should! But are we doing it correctly? There are so many facets to this technology that we may get sidetracked. We may get confused about the terms used or the way to get hold of potential business contacts. We may get all caught up in the building of pages, design elements and lists or hobbies that we get sidetracked. There’s definitely a right way and a wrong way to do this.

This form of marketing is highly effective and can be used to amass lot of customers. But what may not be realized is that most people who use social networking to build their business are using it 100% wrong. Social Networking is NOT for advertising your business, products or material. When using these tools for this purpose (and almost everyone does) – you will fail! Not only will you fail , but you can even ruin your reputation on the web. Social networking is for building relationships.

It is for making your brand known by letting others discover you and your products or services. They discover what you have to offer on their own. You build relationships with people, let people get to know you and things about you. Due to the nature of syndication, your brand and your identity get to be known.

Syndication is inherent in social networking sites. By using these sites, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, My space or any of the 100’s out there, you have the power of syndication. You see, by using these sites and posting something new on your site, your friends or followers will get immediate updates to your site. This means that you don’t have to work like crazy to get your new blog or article seen. It happens automatically. Think of it as meeting people at a party, bus station or some other gathering place, discussing what you do for a living, handing out a business card and establishing a relationship with that person.

This type of marketing is being embraced by just about everyone. It just has to be utilized correctly. If you skip this step in your overall goal to build your business, you will be left behind. Find some free time to work on this marketing strategy. Start with one network and move up to others. Spend a few minutes a day and see where it leads.

I wish you the very best in you new or existing venture.

You may be asking, how do I get on the Internet. Maybe you’re not too sure just what you have to do or where you should start. Well, I might just be able to help with the series of events and guide you in your decisions you have to make to find out how do I get on the internet.

As they say, you should start at the beginning and the beginning is deciding on just what you want to achieve when you get on the Internet.
Are you going to sell a physical product or are you going to sell a digital product?

Is it going to be your own product or is it going to be an affiliate product? You might want to just provide an information type web site.

My suggestion is to start out with an affiliate product which will more than likely be a digital product. As an affiliate, you will be able to get all of the promotional material needed to market that product from the affiliate website. These are all important steps in your progress. When you have made your decisions you move on to the next step.

Having decided on a product the next very important thing is to decide on a name for your website. This is used as your “Domain” and a domain is simply like your registered trading name. You should pick a name that is closely related to the product or service you will provide and then check to see if it is available. Chances are, the first name that you think of may have already been taken so be prepared to brainstorm this area a bit.

Now, there are several free tools out there on the Internet that will help you decide just what your niche might be, but one of your previous steps (deciding on a product) may just dictate your niche for you. This particular area of your research should not be undertaken lightly as your success does depend on getting it right.

What sort of a Web Site are you going to have? You could have a traditional HTML site or you might decide to stick with the latest trend and make or have made for you a Blog site. Both sites can do the same thing but if you decide to go for a Blog then you will be using something like Word Press to make your site. Word Press seems almost an Internet standard now and it is easy to implement and use. There is a multitude of Plug-ins available for Word Press to enable your site to do almost whatever you want it to do. Again, you might get quiet a bit of help from your affiliate website here as they may even offer a ready made website for affiliates.

What is a Plug-in? I hear you ask. They are just small (usually) pieces of code that you install into Word Press that enables your site to produce a visual effect the way you desire.

The next thing that you have to do is decide on the company that is going to “host” your website for you. You need a Host because you have to ‘rent” you little piece of the internet. This decision can be as easy or confusing as you want to make it. You see, there are literally 1,000’s of hosting companies out there and a very big percentage of them are good and reputable companies that will do the right thing for you, but! I believe that there are some certain qualities that you should be aware of when you make your choice. You should look for a host that will offer 24/7 support with live support if possible. Their list of features should be as long as your arm and include features like cPanel so you can have ease of use and control over your site, SQL Database management and Fantastico.

The hosting company will also be able to arrange the domain name for you although there are some who think that your domain source and your host should be different companies. Although some of my domain/hostings have worked out this way, it has not been by design so I am not necessarily of that opinion. The hosting company that I use and highly reccommend is APTHost. You can investigate their Benefits and Service by clicking on the above link.

Now that you have your concept, a product or service, a domain name and a company to host your web site you can build your pages or have someone help you do that for you. You can get on the internet.

It has become apparent in recent years that the power of one’s internet business is in the List. But is it possible that

List building could become an outdated concept?

Enter…Social Networking

All you have to do is ask die-hard fans of Twitter and Facebook to see the possibilities. In the last few years these

social networking tools (along with a few others) have taken the internet by storm and are making quite a few believers in

the idea that even the leverage of one to many communication with your List might become antiquated.

How Social Media Communication Beats Traditional Email

1. When you communicate with your list in today’s environment, you are taking a chance that your viewer may not see your

email…or that it comes to them at a time when they are bombarded by other requests or deadlines.

2. In a traditional list, your prospect may be sending all your emails to a Swipe File email address, meaning they never

see your message. Often, they joined simply to get a free report, with a good intention of returning at a later date.

3. With social networking sites, on the other hand, you are actually building a relationship with your friends or

followers. The more you participate, the more your community gets to know who you are…as a real person with interests

separate from the marketing machine you display in emails.

4. Now, here’s the best part. With social media, you have the ability to turn 1 to many communication into viral

communication. Let’s say you post information of real perceived value. Your friends then forward it on to their friends

(many of whom are not on your list) and it has the potential to go viral.

Putting Social Networking into Practice

With Facebook, you have the opportunity to create a Group around your business area of expertise. Then, you build the

membership in this group through direct promotion or via people finding you from a topic search. So, let’s say you have

2,000 people in your group and you want to let them know about an upcoming teleseminar you are conducting on the specific

focus topic of the group.

You simply send the event invitation to the entire Group. Because the invitation will stay in their Events folder until

group members take specific action, more people will actually see your marketing event. Further, the very nature of

Facebook encourages those in your Group to forward the Event to others within their network, if they find the topic

appealing. Now that’s leverage!

And now I’d like to invite you to go to http://www.BusinessBuildingShortcuts.com — where you’ll find targeted Tools,

Techniques, and Strategies to quicken your Online Success.

Autoresponders are services that most individuals overlook when trying to setup an online business. What most new internet marketers focus on is website development. This is an important part of the setup process but once a site is live, the autoresponder should be the second thing setup.
For someone who wants to start a web-based business, an autoresponder service is a necessity that cannot be avoided. An autoresponder should be the second thing setup after a domain name is purchased. Some of the benefits will be reviewed.
First of all, an autoresponder service frees the webmaster from having to respond to every request for information. Placing an autoresponder through a web site automates the process from which a visitor can access information that cannot be accessed via the website. For example, if there is a newsletter or a product that is to be sold, an autoresponder will allow interested parties to submit their contact information for follow up information on the product of interest.
Secondly, autoresponders are great tools to build a webmaster’s list. A list is a collection of visitors to the site who have requested information. That list can be used to market other products. An example would be if someone submitted their email address to receive information on selling items on eBay; I may find a product to sell that is related to auction sites that I could promote to this person.
Autoresponders are a wonderful tool to use to promote products and keep up with customers. If used correctly, one may be able to profit immensely just by honing their skills for promotion of products to their lists that they created with an autoresponder.

Hello,

My name is Jo, I’m a 28 year old mother of two small children. My husband is an auto -electrician and we have been on a single wage for most of our married life.

The average family in the above scenario, would normally be struggling financially to keep “their head above water”, let alone being able to save for the future.

FREE DVD

But, thanks to 21st Century Academy, our family has done more than save for our future. We are now on the verge of becoming another Aussie Success Story, with plans to double our money every year from now.

Jamie has unlocked the money secrets of the wealthy in his 3 day Seminar and Home Study Course. We were amazed at how simple some of the strategies were, yet so powerful that just by using a fraction of the strategies taught, we are now well on our way to financial freedom. You too, can take advantage of these strategies, no matter where you are in life – anything is possible. You just need to take control – educate yourself and start living the life of your dreams.
Believe me, it’s worth it.

As Web 2.0 becomes less of just a buzzword and more of a reality, the types of sites webmasters need to publish will increasingly become more important. In other words, mini-sites are slowly dying and cookie-cutter article sites are on the way out as well. Web surfers will become more value-focused and web companies will become larger.

Over the next few years expect larger conglomerates to be buying up profitable websites in their chosen markets.
Expect smaller sites to either be bought or driven out of business. My intention is not to scare you, but this outcome is inevitable.

Large businesses have always taken two approaches to their desired markets. They either buy their competition or they push them out of business. You want to be prepared when this trend begins on the Internet.

Being a webmaster and online marketer, you should be preparing for one of two scenarios. To position yourself for a buyout to a larger company or to become the larger company that dominates your chosen market.

Whichever route you choose is entirely up to you, but I would suggest that it would be in your best interest to begin focusing on authority sites. You can either start building them or turning your current sites into them.
Whatever your approach may be, I assure you it will help you sleep better at night.

What Is the Definition of an Authority Site?

A fairly comprehensible authority site definition was put forward by Jason Dowdell of Global Promoter. Jason defined it this way: “Authority sites are sites that have been linked to and referenced on other web sites covering the same subject matter and they also will have hundreds if not thousands of pages covering that subject matter and nearly every facet of it”

That definition is one man’s opinion, albeit a good one, but let us go directly to the source. Many search engine optimization and search engine marketing experts believe Google has derived their primary algorithm from a document titled, “Hilltop: A Search Engine based on Expert Documents.”

The PageRank formula as we know it today was derived from this paper, and the authors, Bharat and Mihaila, define an authority site in the text below:

“We believe a page is an authority on the query topic if and only if some of the best experts on the query topic point to it. Of course in practice some expert pages may be experts on a broader or related topic. If so, only a subset of the hyperlinks on the expert page may be relevant.”

“In such cases the links being considered have to be carefully chosen to ensure that their qualifying text matches the query. By combining relevant out-links from many experts on the query topic we can find the pages that are most highly regarded by the community of pages related to the query topic. This is the basis of the high relevance that our algorithm delivers.”

What we have reprinted above is the foundation of the PageRank system and the determination for deciding which sites will be authorities. I highly recommend you read and re-read the full document until you understand every aspect of it.

What Are the Components of an Authority Site?

Allow me to present you with a diagram at:
<a href=”http://www.contentdesk.com/authoritymap “>http://www.contentdesk.com/authoritymap that dissects your typical authority site. As you can tell from the diagram, a considerable number of components and systems must be in place for the authority site to function profitably and reap the benefits of the “Authority Site Formula.”

The Authority Site Formula = Visitor Optimization (VO) + Content Optimization (CO) * Creative Marketing (CM)

A simple question must be asked. What do 99.9% of authority sites provide? In a sentence, an incredible amount of original content and a superb visitor experience. The search engines want you to succeed and they want you to make money, but you have to play by their rules. In the future, focus your efforts on visitor optimization and content optimization instead of search engine optimization.

What Is the Anatomy of an Authority Site?

About.com is the definition and was the original authority site. Their site has a generic domain name and hundreds of subdomains on different topics.

Your authority site should take the same approach, but not on such a general level. If you launch an authority site, it should be geared towards a well-defined and large market. After you launch the site and generate some traffic, you should create subdomains that cover specific areas inside that larger market.

For example, Diabetic-Resources.Com is not an active site; but if it were, then a typical authority site setup would be something like:

* <a href=”http://supplies.diabetic-resoures.com “>http://supplies.diabetic-resoures.com
Using this approach, you are able to target your general market while generating more targeted traffic pertaining to related sub-markets.

As a rule of thumb, the index pages on your domains and subdomains should be more focused on content, but the article and commentary pages should be more focused on advertising. Just do not ever lose sight of the most important aspect of your site, which is visitor experience otherwise known as visitor optimization.

What Does It Take to Create an Authority Site?

You want to create a site that generates thousands of visitors a day mainly through the major search engines, and would ultimately be the one-stop source for information in that particular market.

Your site must employ three traits to become an authority site. Let’s discuss all three necessary aspects:

Dynamic: You should have as many RSS feeds as you can muster to incorporate throughout your site. Your visitors need to be able to receive RSS feeds for any keyword, category or archive as well as create their own. One feed is no longer enough to satisfy your visitors.

Interactive: You should be engaging the minds of your visitors at all times using surveys, commenting and feedback. Make these features easy for your visitors and your site will grow exponentially. Why? Because they feel like you actually care about them. Interaction is a powerful tool and creates a sense of community on your site.

Consistent: You should post to your blog often, and you should always provide quality and original content. That doesn’t mean you need to produce 800-word articles three times a week. Your goal should be to become a news master.
You need to be an “authority” on the news happening in your niche.

If you follow the steps and guidelines listed above, then you will be on your way to being the owner of an authority site.

Posted by Wealth Resources on Dec 17, 2008
These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for “The Next
Big Thing”. Anything can happen… Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.
